Busy but fun weekend...

This weekend was great! It was busy but filled with lots of fun things!  Friday night Barrett and I stopped by a friends house on our way home from work/school for a little playdate with her little boy Finley aka Fin. Fin is 2 months older than Barrett.  It was so cute to watch them interact with each other. We weren't able to stay long because Barrett was on the verge of a major meltdown because he was sleepy. Here are a couple of pictures from that night.

Saturday we went to our playgroup that we do once a month. I am so thankful to be a part of this group. It is so much fun talking to other mommies and watching the babies grow month to month.

 Barrett, Cole, and Ava Grace

 Barrett loved Ava Grace's walker!

Saturday night mommy and daddy had a date night.  We went to dinner at Finelli's (can I say YUMMY) and went to mommy's work Christmas party.  Nana and Papa watched Barrett and got to spoil him a little.  :)Sunday was filled with Church and another Christmas party with my two bestest friends and their families.  Thanks Amy for hosting our party!  We had a great time!  I love these girls!  Unfortunately I didn't get many pictures but here are a few.

Ma ma ma ma...

I just think this is the cutest thing not to share!  The other day I was home with Barrett by myself and he started talking.  I stopped dead in my tracks and said to myself "I could have swore he just said ma ma ma ma."  Oh I was soooo excited but never said anything to anyone because hey it didn't happen right?  Well the other day my mom was watching Barrett and that night she told me "Barrett was calling ma ma ma ma today."  Now I know he doesn't know what he's saying and doesn't put the two together but to me its music to my ears!  It just warms my heart everytime I hear him say it.  :)

It's the most wonderful time of the year...

So it's been a LONG time since I've posted anything on here.  My friend Nickie has encouraged me to get into this blogging world again so I'm gonna give it another shot.

It's Christmas time!  I can't believe it!  It seems like it was only yesterday I was preparing for the arrival of Barrett and now he is almost 5 1/2 months old.  WOW - where does the time go?  This year is such a special year for our little family.  It's our first year with Barrett.  I've tried lately to not overbook us on things and spread out our Christmas get togethers as much as possible so Barrett will be in a good mood for all.  (Stephen would say that's not the case and that if I have an empty date on the calendar I look for things to fill it up with.  hahaha...lol)  I really want to enjoy this Christams season with Barrett, Stephen, and all my family and friends.  I'm such a sentimental person about EVERYTHING and so I am trying to think of "family traditions" that we can establish with Barrett.  First off, we took Barrett to see Santa.  The whole experience went so fast I don't even feel like we saw him with Santa.  But I must say little man did GREAT!  He smiled so big and we got a great picture.

Look at that little man - isn't he the most handsome little fella you've ever seen?!

This year Stephen is off Christmas Eve and Christmas Day!  We are so excited to be able to be together to spend this time with Barrett.  As everyone is enjoying your Christmas morning at home together with your families please think about and say a quick prayer for those that won't be with their loved ones, whether they are in the armed forces and away serving our country or working and serving their community in other ways.  I know there will be many aching to be with their loved ones at this special time of the year.

As this time of year gets so busy for all so quickly, I hope we all stop and remember the real meaning of Christmas.  The birth of our Savior Jesus Christ who came to save us all from our sins.  Thank you God for sending your Son for us.  We had our Christmas program at Church on Sunday night and it was excellent!  The singing was wonderful and the drama was great too!  Great job PCFWB!

7 weeks today...

Our little man is 7 weeks today!  I can't believe it!  7 weeks ago today we went through the most wonderful experience we could ever go through as we anxiously awaited our little Barrett!  He was precious!  A little miracle sent to us to watch over from God!  How blessed we were then but oh man how blessed we have been over the past 7 weeks!  It has been a joy to be B's mommy.  I have and am continuing to learn so much about this little guy.  I have learned his cries, when he's sleepy and he is starting to get a personality.  He is now starting to really reconginze things and really start to acknowledge Stephen and I.  Oh what a feeling to be able to comfort him when no one else cans.  I love that he depends on us but I know this won't last forver.  Everyone says don't hold them so much but why not?  I know that as each day he is growing and soon he won't want us to hold him. He'll be pushing us away wanting to go his own way.  I am trying to hold him as much as I can but at the same time not get him used to someong having to rock him to sleep or hold him while he sleeps.  He'll be starting daycare soon and they won't do that.  Daycare - what a scary thought...I am not liking it right now...

I can't fill this little guy up!!!  Every 3 hours like clock work (unless he is exhausted) he is screaming - feed me and occasionally recently he has started crying for food every 2 1/2 hours.  I think rice cereal is going to be my hero!!  :)  We put some in his bottle last night to help with sleeping at night.  I fed him at 7:30 pm and he didn't wake up till 2:40 am to eat again.  Hallelujah!  We should have given it to him at his late night feeding and he would have gone all night but hey I can handle 1 night feedings versus - 3 night feedings.  We will try putting in the late night feeding tonight.

Well that's all for now...

The blogging world...

I decided I would try this blogging thing once again. I'm not sure how long this will last but thought I would give it a try to keep track of Barrett and our family. We shall see...

Life as a mommy is wonderful! Of course their are some times when B screams like crazy but when he looks at me with those big blue eyes my heart can't help but melt. I can't believe he is already over a month old. Mr. Time please slow down. I am so loving being at home with him. I would love to be a stay at home mom but it just won't work for us so I have just 7 weeks left with my little man before I go back to work. We found out today that he will definately be going to Reimage daycare! We are so excited! What a blessing to be able to send him to a daycare where he will learn about God! We will start full-time in October but will go a little toward the end of September to get little man used to going and of course to help me with this big step. I have a feeling I'll shed some crocodile tears the first time I drop him off.

Just a little about B...He was born July 3, 2010 at 11:07 pm. He weighed 8 pounds 1 ounce and was 20 1/2 inches long. He was jaundice when we left the hospital and so he had to wear the bili blanket and have blood drawn for about a week when we came home. But he is doing good and in just 4 short weeks B has gained to 10 pounds 14 ounces and is 22 inches long! Our baby is growing so fast!

Our day usually consists of feeding, playing, and sleeping, well B sleeping. lol! I try to take naps when he sleeps but somehow my mind just keeps running things through my head that need to be done. I am just now feeling "GOOD" and back to myself. In the meantime, Stephen has been wonderful helping. He is such an awesome husband and daddy! B stays awake a lot during the morning but sleeps a lot in the afternoon. He is just now starting to fight sleep and has been a pistol to get to sleep the last few days. But once he is asleep he snoozes away and snores just like his daddy! It is so cute!

Well...that is all I've got time for now...will post more later.
